Richmond based graphics trailblazer sold to Malaysian online photo provider

Directories Today Ltd, one of the UK’s leading online sellers of graphics and text fonts, has been purchased by Malaysian based global stock photographs and image provider ‘123RF’.

Richmond based Directories Today Ltd launched two websites in 2014, providing graphic design resources for the creative industries and professional and personal designers of websites. Since their launch, thehungryjpeg.com and craftbundles.com have witnessed significant demand for their web based graphic designs and fonts. Innovative designs enable users to personalize their websites and other design materials by accessing thousands of visual templates.

The transaction was supported by Moore Blatch lawyers John Warchus and Jasnoop Cheema (commercial) and James Allen (corporate).

Stuart Bennett, founder, Directories Today, commented: “Since launching The Hungry JPEG and Craft Bundles just a few years ago, we have witnessed huge demand from professionals who want to personalise their online presence with high quality and affordable imagery. Our work came to the attention of one of the global leaders in stock photography and by combining forces we have been able to create a market leader in this emerging field. I would like to thank the team at Moore Blatch for their diligence and hard work in getting this deal over the line for us.”

James Allen, Associate, Moore Blatch solicitors, said: “This acquisition underlines the high quality and global appeal of UK technology innovators. We are seeing more international companies expand their research and development resource by joining forces with trailblazers such as Directories Today Ltd and are increasingly active in M&A activity in the Richmond area. It has been a real pleasure advising some of the brightest minds in this area.”
