Olympic Gold sailing contenders sponsored by lawyers Moore Blatch

2020 women's Olympic sailing contenders and British team members 22-year-old Megan Brickwood and 20-year-old Ellie Aldridge have received a three-year sponsorship from lawyers, Moore Blatch, in their bid to become medal winners in the 49er FX class at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, held in Tokyo.

Additionally, Moore Blatch is sponsoring 16-year-old Vita Heathcote, former Youth Sailor of the Year, in her bid for a future Olympic medal.

Both Megan, from Hamble, and Ellie, from Poole, are currently part of the British Sailing Team Olympic podium potential squad; Megan has been in the programme for four years and Ellie joined in summer last year. Vita, from Lymington, has this year competed in the Junior Europeans championship in Italy.

Megan and Ellie commented: "Our goal is plainly an Olympic Gold, but getting to Tokyo requires a huge amount of support from the British Sailing Team, our family and friends, and importantly sponsors who enable us to compete internationally which is hugely expensive.

“We would like to thank Moore Blatch for their support.  As a company with offices in Southampton and Lymington they have many sailors in their midst who understand the physical, emotional and financial issues of sailing as a world class sport."

Vita commented "As you progress through any sport, it normally involves a huge commitment from your family and friends as your competitions move from local to national and then international. My family have been incredibly supportive, and as my sporting career progresses sponsorship such as that from Moore Blatch is essential."

Ed Whittington, managing partner Moore Blatch, said; "Megan, Ellie and Vita are already world class athletes in a sport that not only requires physical prowess, but is also arguably the most tactically complex of any Olympic disciplines. We are proud to be able to support them in all in their Olympic ambition, with Megan and Ellie's podium dream just three years away."

Ellie and Megan's progress towards their Olympic dreams can be followed on their Facebook page TeamBrickwoodAldridge.
