Moore Blatch supports Lymington Dementia Action Group

Moore Blatch have sponsored Lymington Dementia Action Group, giving £300 towards a tea dance.

The cheque was handed over by Fiona Heald, partner at Moore Blatch, who has built a reputation for championing the rights of the elderly.

Fiona commented: “The Lymington Dementia Action group play a central role in supporting those with dementia and their families, helping them enjoy a good quality of life – whether through pop up cafés, music, lunches or monthly meetings.  We’re proud to support the group and the important work they do, not least as promoting support for the elderly is a cause I am personally passionate about.”

Earlier this year, Fiona was nominated as Solicitor of the Year largely in recognition of her work in protecting the elderly from being exposed to financial abuse.

Ian Erridge, Chair of the Lymington Dementia Action Group, who received the donation on behalf of the organisation, said "I would like to thank Fiona and everyone at Moore Blatch, for this very kind donation. Our tea dances at the Lymington Centre have become a very important event in our calendar and are a wonderful and fun opportunity for those living with Dementia and their carers, to interact with others in a similar position.

"We strive to reach out to our community and support anyone with a Dementia diagnosis in a variety of ways. We have wonderful programs involving music, art and sport and also hold coffee mornings throughout the month. But, we are a volunteer organisation and rely on the generosity of donations from companies like Moore Blatch - and other organisations - to maintain and improve these programs.

" I would also like to particularly thank Annabel and Cheryl from our group, who work so hard to ensure our tea dance events are the success that they are - and the Lymington Lions, who assist us with volunteers to help put the event on. If anyone would like to get in touch with us, or inquire further about the activities that we run, details are available at https://lymington.com/information/dementia-matters"
