Substantial six figure sum obtained for the daughter of the deceased in fatal accident claim
Moore Blatch acted in a fatal accident claim for a daughter pursuing a dependency claim following the loss of her mother who was killed by an agriculture vehicle whilst she was walking on the roadway. The dependency claim was unusual in that we were arguing that the daughter who was herself an adult married with children was nonetheless dependent on the mother in terms of allowing her to go out to work. The mother looked after the grandchildren. As a result the daughter had to give up her employment. A small independency claim was brought on behalf of the grandchildren as well. The matter settled and was approved by the court on a full liability basis for a significant 6 figure sum.
