Substantial damages secured for barrister with significant spinal injury

Moore Blatch acted for a practising barrister in relation to a complex spinal injury claim. The claim was taken over from another firm of solicitors as the client had lost confidence in their ability to represent him.

Another barrister recommended him to instruct Moore Blatch to act. The claim concerned a road traffic accident where liability was admitted.

The claim settled shortly before trial for a large 6 figure sum. The case was extremely challenging in terms of causation of injury and required expert assistance from 2 spinal surgeons, a pain consultant, psychiatrist, urological expert and a forensic accountant. Our claim was that the accident caused significant injury and impacted on his career. The Defence argued that the problems were pre existing. Ultimately, the Defence accepted we had a strong case and the matter was settled out of court at a joint settlement meeting.
