Significant brain injury following fall at property

Moore Blatch won substantial compensation for a client who sustained a significant head injury and associated brain damage as a result of a fall.

Our client was a guest at property in Bristol owned by a housing association. While returning from the pub he fell over a low wall bordering the steps to the property and fell into the basement property below.

The case gave rise to a complex legal argument as to the duty of an occupier of premises to its visitors.

Our client had little or no recollection of the accident due to the severity of his injuries. He was unable to return to his pre-accident employment as a lorry driver on account of the injury he sustained.

Liability was heavily contested throughout, however we were able to secure brain injury compensation for our client shortly before trial at a roundtable meeting attended by all the parties.
