MD convicted of manslaughter in Health & Safety case: R -v- Change of Style

MD of a Southampton stone cutting company was convicted of manslaughter following the death of an employee from fatal head injuries. He was fined £70,000 and received a 2-year suspended sentence.

On appeal by the prosecution, an immediate sentence of 15 months in custody was imposed. His son and fellow director was also fined £1,500 for a breach of health and safety legislation.
